I have always made art. I hold no degrees, although I did attend the University of Illinois for one year as an art major. It was incredibly boring and sexist. In Los Angeles in the 1960's and 70's, I started making costumes for rock musicians, which eventually led to my making wearable art. Among other things, I have also been a freelance graphic artist and restaurant owner.
I served on the Board of Directors of the Oregon Chapter of the Women's Caucus for Art for three years, and was editor of their newsletter, ARTlines, for two years. I am now a member of the Seattle Chapter. In the fall of 1995, I attended the Fourth World Conference on the Status of Women in Beijing, People's Republic of China, as a delegate of the WCA.
I am currently serving a second term on the Redmond, Washington Arts Commission.
