"CHILDREN OF THE MOONTM"

a series of original porcelain dolls

by Yara Anderson

.

Many of you have asked me over the years who these Children of the Moon are, where they live and why I sculpt them. Well, it's quite simple really. They are creatures who live on the moon. Children in spirit and play, but actually quite old for those of us who count the years.

The Children of the Moon have one very exciting trip each year. They get to choose a country on Earth and visit for one moon cycle. At full moon they slide down the rays (I find that hard to believe as well, but that's what they tell me...) and they go home the same way at the following full moon. For some children this can be a little scary, but most of them really look forward to this annual event. They love to learn about the country and culture they visit and usually write a story about it to share with others.

I have come across some of these stories and I will share them with you on this page. I hope that you'll be able to enjoy them as much as I do. And if any of you ever meet a Child of the Moon, I would love to hear about it!
