This is the Virgin Mary, as she gives herself
up to God. His Holy Spirit blows over her, and she conceives
Jesus.
She is represented in an old church tradition of painting
church figures blue beneath their clothes, and not
representing the physical body of the Virgin below the
waist.
In old church traditions, however, she would wear some
kind of clothing, whereas I decided to portray her as a
nude.
